Genesis Electrified G80

The headline news is that Genesis quietly discontinued the Electrified G80 in the US after the 2024 model year, with no 2025-model-year cars sold there. The reason was slow sales - the electric sedan managed only around 140 units in its final full year, and sales fell further in 2025 - so Genesis pulled it from the US line-up.

However, a refreshed Electrified G80 with a longer wheelbase and a larger screen is being introduced for the 2026 model year in other markets. In the meantime, the US discontinuation plus steep depreciation has pushed used Electrified G80 prices down to the low-to-mid USD 30,000s, turning a slow-selling luxury EV into one of the best used-EV bargains around.

The Genesis Electrified G80 is a quiet, fast luxury sedan. Its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system makes 365 hp and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm), with a Boost function for short bursts, delivering a 0-60 mph time of around 4.1 seconds and a 140 mph top speed.

The 87.2 kWh battery (82.5 kWh usable) gives an EPA-estimated 282 miles, or about 520 km on the WLTP cycle. Real-world range depends on conditions, but it is comfortable for long, refined motorway journeys - exactly the kind of driving this car is built for.

The Electrified G80 comes with Genesis's full advanced driver-assistance suite, including forward collision-avoidance assist, lane keeping and lane following assist, highway driving assist, smart cruise control with stop and go, blind-spot and rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance, and a 360-degree surround view monitor.

Crash-test ratings vary by market and test body, so check the latest NHTSA, IIHS or Euro NCAP results for your region and model year if buying used.

The Electrified G80 uses an 800-volt electrical architecture, allowing up to 350 kW DC fast charging and a 10 to 80 percent top-up in about 22 minutes. An 11 kW AC onboard charger does a full 10 to 100 percent charge in roughly 7 hours 22 minutes on a 240-volt Level 2 charger. It uses a CCS port (US cars predate the brand's NACS switch), and it supports Vehicle-to-Load to power external devices. The available solar roof can also add a small amount of charge over time.

Genesis backs the Electrified G80 with long EV warranties that vary by market - in the US this has typically included a lengthy high-voltage battery warranty plus complimentary maintenance and charging perks. As the car is now mostly a used-market buy in the US, check the remaining battery and vehicle warranty on any specific car with a Genesis retailer, and confirm terms for your market.
